Colors can mean many things to many people, but when picking colors to represent your business or products, be sure to take these basic ideas in mind. This is what feelings colors convey:

White: Purity, emptiness, cold
Black: Power, darkness, submission
Blue: Peace, tranquility, loyalty
Green: Nature, wealth
Yellow: Sunny, bright, energy, optimism
Red: Intensity, love, confrontation
Purple: Royalty, luxury, wealth,
Brown: Earth, grounding, nature, genuine

Core Design Fundamentals: L-Shape Web Layout

Web designs change as vastly as the web itself, but one fundamental design continues to be popular: the L-Shaped Web Design. With navigation at the top, and sides, the web user can easily find their way around a website and the content remains in focus. Using basic grids, and attention to alignment, L-shaped websites are easy on a user, and easy on a web master as well. With the basic principle down for navigation, several variables can be introduced to spice up the design, without alienating the user.

Core Design Fundamentals: Type & Font

A basic building block to many designs, such as websites and logos is the font or fonts used. Fonts display an idea of what attitude, feeling and formality you are trying to convey. In the provided example, there are 3 basic fonts you can choose from:

Serif
Sans-Serif
Wingding

The example shows all three. The first is Helvetica, a Sans-Seriff. The second is Times, a Serif, and the third is Giddyup. Not exactly a wingding font, but more of a script. The general idea is conveyed that two are formal, and another is whimsical. Also, you can probably come to a conclusion that the Times font conveys a formal and aged feeling, while Helvetica gives a formal, but official statement. There are other factors you can put into the design of your words as well. Bold and Italic are well known among word processors.

So when you are considering the design of your project, think of the font and typography, and make sure it speaks to you.

North Port, FL – Bad Wolf Designs, Inc. launched their new website May 12^th, 2010 with new slider features, an article feeder, news feed, a blog area for posting design tips, and an ambitious new program to offer Turn-Key Websites.

“The new site isn’t just about eye-candy, it’s to help feature the new ‘Turn-Key Web Designs’ program we are launching. We speak with many small business owners, and they all had the same questions: Will my site be easy to use? Will I be able to use it after it’s done?
